The trees which produce the flowers with the nectar are commonly known as Red Bloodwood which we produce our Australian bloodwood honey from.
The scientific facts
The trees’ scientific name is Corymbia gummifera. It’s a species of eucalypt and is named so because of its dark-pink to dark-red heartwood and distinctive blood-red coloured sap.
