upcycled beeswax candles
Handmade beeswax candles not only look great, but their natural honey aroma and the addition of no chemicals means they are a delight to breathe around too.
Our beeswax is used for all sorts of things from balms to encaustic art, beeswax polish to beeswax sandwich wraps, didgeridoo mouth pieces to sewing crafts, and we always love seeing what people make with it.
And how good do these candles made by Annika Gollasch of Lillebo Creations look!?
Annika recycles wine bottles into candle holders and vases – and even uses the wine bottle tops to create tiny little tealights. Love the environmental sustainability of this repurposing and the use of our natural beeswax!
Annika’s candles were on sale at the Scandinavian Christmas Bazaar in Yarralumla, Canberra and people commented how much they appreciated they were made from real, raw, pure beeswax rather than soy or palm or synthetic paraffin.
Annika sent us a message to say, ‘I’m so grateful to have found you as a provider for my wax’.
Annika, we’d like to say back: ‘Thank you! We’re so grateful to see your beautiful end products!’
It really is such a buzz to see our beeswax being used in so many beautiful and creative ways by artisans around Australia. It’s a lot of hard work by our bees and our small beekeeping team to produce and harvest the wax, so it really does lift our spirits to know it’s in good hands.
You can see Annika’s other creations and upcycled goods on her Lillebo Instagram account here. It’s great to be able to support local artisans rather than mass-produced candles!
And if you are trying to buy pure beeswax for your own craft, you can find and purchase our 100% Australian beeswax online (from 1kg to 10kg to 100kg) or save shipping and pick some up from us at the markets in Port Macquarie. Kaleidoscope stores in Coffs Harbour at Port Macquarie also often have our 1kg beeswax blocks in stock.
Our little company, The Beekeeper®, are also a provider of manuka beeswax that we harvest right here on the mid north coast of NSW. Limited stock available and it depends on the season as to availability.
Our beeswax goes through minimal processing which involves melting, filtering and then pouring into blocks and slabs to cool. That’s it. Pure beeswax ready for your use.
Nb: We think the aroma of beeswax is one of the most calming scents on the planet, you can even carry around a chunk with you and just breathe it in whenever you need. Enjoy.
