We’re Looking for an Apiary Hand or Beekeeper in NSW

From time to time, our hives (and our team…yes, that’s our head beekeeper Daryl in the pic checking out the hives recently) need a little extra support. Right now, we have a position open for a Beekeeper and/or Apiary Assistant – full or part time – and we’re putting the call out to NSW-based beekeepers in the Fredrickton/Kempsey/Coffs/Port Macquarie area who are not afraid of hard work and feel at home working with bees, weather, tools, coworkers and the seasons.
We’re a small, friendly, fourth-generation beekeeping business on the Mid North Coast of NSW, working across the region to produce truly beautiful Australian honey and pure beeswax. Our days are spent caring for hive health, extracting honey, fixing boxes, and doing practical, hands-on work that can require ability to follow instructions and strength.
What the role looks like in real life
This is for anyone who isn’t into desk jobs! The role includes:
- Working with hives out in the paddocks and bush
- Helping with honey extraction and processing in our facility
- Maintaining equipment, boxes and frames
- Seasonal travel to the bush (sometimes with a few nights away) – and it would be great if you know how to drive a truck!
- Being part of a small, experienced team that looks out for each other
Some days are physical. Some days are magic. Some days are sticky. Some days are a buzz. That’s beekeeping.
Who this role suits
You don’t need to be a master beekeeper already. What matters most is that you’re:
- Physically capable and comfortable with outdoor work
- Practical, reliable and willing to learn
- Safety-conscious and detail-oriented
- Happy working as part of a team
- Genuinely interested in bees, food production and land-based work
Experience with bees, agriculture, machinery, trade skills or trucks is a bonus — but not essential.
